The English Curling Association takes the welfare and safety of its members seriously and, in line with our commitments to fostering a safe environment for everyone to curl, has put in place the following policies.
The ECA Child Protection Policy sets out the expectations of participants, coaches, volunteers, members, helpers, and spectators within the English Curling Association and its member clubs with regards to promoting child welfare. The ECA is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for junior curlers, and sets out herein the means of achieving this.
The above document provides contacts for the ECA Welfare Officer, as well as contact details for organisations providing additional information and support.
The ECA maintains a set of guidelines for transporting children. This sets out the expectations on clubs and volunteers for transporting junior curlers to and from events.
The ECA recognises the need for clubs and their volunteers to receive adequate coaching and training with regards to safeguarding. Recommended courses are provided within the document above
