Stewart Pimblett (Skip)
Julian Mattison
Jason Kean
George Potts
Karen Aspey
Jean Guild (non-travelling reserve)
The Athletes will be accompanied by their coaches, Tony Lenton and Rosemary Lenton.
Coach Tony Lenton complimented the Athletes on their selection, acknowledging the significant efforts that all the Athletes had put into the four 3-day summer camps run at the Preston Flower Bowl, noting that many had also spent a considerable time on the ice in between the camps. He said that although there was still a lot of training to get through, the intensity of the summer camps had galvanised the team and team harmony was some of the best he had seen. He welcomed the 3 new members to the team, their inclusion looking to the future.
Tony also acknowledged, with grateful thanks, the significant support that English Wheelchair Curling had received from the Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre, British Curling and Sport England. He also thanked ECA president, Richard Hills, who had offered to help with the Wheelchair coaching. This had been an enormous benefit, especially with Richard running additional training session for those living close to the Flower Bowl.
The team started their run-up to the World B Championship by participating in the Flower Bowl Wheelchair Open at the beginning of September, along with 5 other UK based teams.
