New E-Learning Course and downloadable resources targeting youth athletes

WADA is pleased to announce two significant additions to their Anti-Doping Education and Learning (ADEL) platform designed to educate youth athletes on the importance of clean sport:

1. ADEL for Youth Athletes course

Tailored for athletes aged 11-15 who are involved in sport through school, camps or clubs, this new course introduces the concept of clean sport and equips learners with the skills to overcome challenging moments in their sport journey. Each module features members of WADA’s Athlete Council sharing their personal experiences with competing clean and encouraging athletes to help create a fair and positive sporting environment for everyone.

With the addition of this youth course, WADA’s education programs now cover all stages of the athlete pathway, enabling us to educate curling athletes from the playground to the podium.

2. Downloadable Resources Now Available
WADA have released four downloadable resources designed for youth and talented-level athletes, their parents, and athlete support personnel (ASP). These new resources cover the following essential topics:

  • testing procedures,
  • the Prohibited List,
  • supplements, and
  • the importance of speaking up in challenging situations.

WADA’s Education Committee Chair, Kady Kanouté Tounkara, said: “These new downloadable resources mark a significant step towards improving accessibility to clean sport education. Making content available offline embraces an inclusive approach that enables athletes, their parents, and their support personnel that may not have full-time internet access to stay informed and compliant. Downloadable on a computer or mobile phone, these free resources make it possible to learn anytime and anywhere, regardless of internet connection.”

Please note: athletes under the age of 16 must use a parent or guardian’s email address to create an account on ADEL.
